WHO IS THERE?

So who is there when you didn’t mean to make her cry?
And who is there when you’re lost and you don’t know why?
No easy answer, confessing and guessing, and wondering why

So who is there when you fear that your time is up?
And who is there when you can’t find your giddy-up?
The routine answer: You blame her, you shame her, but you’re never sure why

Who can help you feel alive when you can’t even shed a tear?
Who can help you find yourself when all you seem to know is fear?
Who can help you get ahead when you can’t get your ass in gear?
Though you wonder why anything should die, it’s time to say goodbye

So who is there when you don’t even want to try?
And who is there? A man’s not supposed to cry
The honest answer: Neither of you knew it so the both of you said, “Screw it!”

So who is there when you miss what you never had?
And who is there when a good man is going bad?
The simple answer: Whatever you can’t learn to turn on, you must turn off

Who can help you look ahead when you’re convinced the end is near?
Who can help you feel alive when what you feel is insincere?
Who can help you make it real when every time you disappear?
Though you wonder why anything should die, it’s time to say goodbye

So who was there when each moment was truth or dare?
And who was there when you were too much in love to care?
When there’s no answer, we do what we must and we do what we can

Be who you are in whatever your shade of blue
Be who you are, do whatever you need to do
Love is the answer even when our need for love cannot find the answer
Even when our need for love cannot find the answer
Even when our need for love cannot find the answer
Keep asking, keep asking, keep asking, keep asking
Keep asking, keep asking, keep asking, keep asking
