WHAT OFTEN COMES WITH MOONLIGHT

Alone she walks down by the riverside
Payday, playday, for a day she’ll run away
A matinee, hide away in a small café
Someday, someway, faraway, a world away
She’ll fly away, holiday, sunny summer day
There’s a river, there’s a day, there’s a bridge, there’s a way
To make all dreams come true in special ways
If she’s strong, it won’t be long
For patience is a small price she must pay day by day
Believing love is just a smile away
Knowing love will always find a way

Last year, look who’s here, a man appeared, a good career
He seemed sincere, whispered words that she longed to hear
No fear, love is here, loud and clear, she held him near
And gave of herself everything that was near and dear
Later on he dropped the bomb and he was gone
And when she asked him what was going on
He said, “Honey, you turn me on.
But you know I never meant to lead you on. I’m moving on.”
What often comes with moonlight leaves at dawn
What often comes with moonlight leaves at dawn

What comes with moonlight leaves at dawn. As the day breaks, it’s gone.
What comes with moonlight leaves at dawn. As the day breaks, it’s gone.
Alone she walks, down by the riverside

Last year, look who’s here, a man appeared, a good career
He seemed sincere, whispered words that she longed to hear
No fear, love is here, loud and clear, she held him near
And gave of herself everything that was near and dear
Later on he dropped the bomb and he was gone
And when she asked him what was going on
He said, “Honey, you turn me on.
But you know I never meant to lead you on. I’m moving on.”
