Aquamarine, dark jungle green
Put side to side, what might they mean?
How can I be without something
Something much greater than the little thing you see?
The outraged Philistines cannot stop me!

For thirty years I have walked this earth
With gratitude some souvenir I’ll bring to birth
Something of the man that I have been
And something of all humankind though life it’s true can be unkind

Lapus lazuli and burgundy
What else do I need to be me?
Master one thing, then you can sing
And understand most anything, yes, anything
All things here are possible in spring

I was not back then today’s rare gem
And artists know that death is not the worst for them
If I was with you now, I would not disavow
But off I’d go amidst the flow where you can’t go until you know

When the stars gleam, they make me dream
I dream my paintings, paint my dreams
I tip my hat, I tip my hand
Tip of the iceberg that I am
You’ll understand once you’ve come to meet me where I am
