Good evening, my brothers and my sisters, I’m here tonight
Our freedom, oh no, we won’t give up, no, not without a fight
Sometimes, it’s not left against right, it’s right against wrong
Always, working together, that’s what made us so strong
Reverend Barber: We must shock this nation with the power of love. We must shock this nation with the power of mercy. We must shock this nation and fight for justice for all. We can’t give up on the heart of our democracy!
Liberty, they won’t admit it, but someday they’ll see we’re right
Equality, we won’t give up until we finally get it right
Hatred, there’s nothing sadder than a heart empty of love
Be strong, there’s nothing that the faithful cannot rise above
Barber: And so I stop by here tonight to ask: Is there a heart in this house?
Is there a heart in America? Is there somebody that has a heart for the poor?
For all time, yes, I believe in you as you believe in me
Beyond time, with justice for us all, sweet land of liberty
Show me that you’re as constant as the shining stars above
Show me there is no darkness that can overshadow love
Khizr Khan: Let me ask you: Have you even read the United States constitution?
I will gladly lend you my copy.
Come home, I was born here and in my time I will die here
Come home, there is a voice within our souls we all can hear
Come home, together there is not a thing we cannot do
Come home, stronger together, everyone including you
Khan: Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America
You will see all faiths, genders, and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing.
In Philly, two hundred-forty years, same twinkle, different light
Liberty, it can’t be wrong when every breath of it feels right
Come home, thanks to you all I know what I am doing here
Come home and never forget how and why we all came here
