THAT’S WHEN SHE SAID GOODBYE

Mr. Scaly, were you ever in love? (Lounge Lizard grumbles)
He said yes, he was in love once.
Love! And what happened? (grumble)
Oh, she cheated on him.
Well, that is delightful! Did he kill her?
No, he didn’t kill her.
So, what did happen? (grumble)
He says he can’t talk about it. It’s just too painful.
Oh, that’s too bad. That’s really too bad! (grumble)
What did he say?
He says he can’t talk about it, but he can sing about it.
Really? Well, that is delightful! (grumble)
What did he say?
He says he saw her one more time after that.
He spoke to her!
Yeah, he said something to her.
He did! Oh, Mr. Scaly, Slimy Lounge Lizard, please tell us what you said.
Quiet, he’s getting ready. This is what he said to her:

Tell me there’ll be no more lies tonight
Tell me there’ll be no retreat
Tell me that always beside me you will stay
That’s when she said
That’s when she said
That’s when she said goodbye

You always hope somebody cares enough to come up and grab your tail
But you don’t expect ‘em to snap the sucker off!
It takes time to grow a new tail!
But I have to admit:
Once I’m in gear, I do like to chase the tail
(applause)
Thank you! Thank you very much!

All this moany-groany crap
Sour grapes, sour grapes
I tried ‘em, taste like crap!
